Foehammer
A specter looms over the ever expanding suburbs of Washington, DC. A fetid, lumbering, lurching beast throws its shadow across the unending sprawl. That specter is Foehammer. Formed in 2013 as a three piece, Foehammer has in recent years coalesced as a duo, and with that metamorphosis has sloughed its way into new musical territory, powered by the frenetic drumming of Ben Price (Immiseration, Mast Year, At The Graves) and riffcraft of Jay Cardinell. Whereas the self-titled e.p. and Second Sight were comprised of inexorably creeping funeral doom epics, Monumentum brings in new sounds and tempos. Fans of Corrupted’s dirge will undoubtedly still love Monumentum, but fans of Cianide’s deathly doom, the sludgy filth of early Thou, and the transcendental leanings of mid-90’s Neurosis will also find much to enjoy.
Foehammer has toured the East Coast, South, and Midwest, and shared the stage with the likes of Bell Witch, Bongzilla, Fister, Horrendous, Ilsa, Mortiferum, Thou, Outer Heaven, HUSH., Primitive Man, Rezn, Sea of Bones, Unearthly Trance, Usnea, Weedeater, Yatra, and more.
