Float Omen
Blending introspective brooding and melancholic longing with brazen aggression and bitter, dark tones, New Jersey emotional metalcore outfit Float Omen use their passion-spiked brand of heaviness to evoke raw emotion and contemplation of the state of the human experience - oh, and also some moshing. Erupting into the tri-state heavy music community in 2021, the New Jersey sextet quickly released their debut work, “Flightless, I’ve Dreamt Of The Sky”, a stunning two-track EP blending a dream-like ethereal state and dreary, eviscerating malevolence in a prodigally artful way. Within a year, the band would be gearing up to release their sophomore EP, Means To An End, which would make the band a regional powerhouse and put them on bills supporting acts like Varials, Orthodox, Johnny Booth and ENOX. 2023 witnessed the band’s continued growth, with local headlining shows and regional support for Downswing, among others. The year is now 2024, and Float Omen have supported Kaonashi on their groundbreaking EP release show, nu-metalcore powerhouse Weeping Wound, and will have just appeared on their first nationwide tour supporting CABAL and Born A New - all while preparing to release an all-new collection of music that strives to revive the metalcore scene from a state of stagnation and egotism, favoring instead inclusivity, support and open-mindedness. Float Omen are a name you may not have heard yet - but by year’s end, they will more than likely be one of your favorite acts. "The Degradation Of Life" EP is set to release September 6th. The band will be on the road with Wiltwither in support of the release.
